LCGSS-AA was established for the purpose of uniting all alumni of the Lower Corentyne Secondary School in the form of an association to rekindle and maintain friendships while at the same time generating funds to support the tremendous needs of our beloved school in Guyana.
We are pleased with the extensive and positive response we have received. However there are many more alumni from the LCGSS family that we would like to get in touch with. We encourage all our alumni to network with other schoolmates and friends to spread the word about our organization. The more alumni we can reach out to the stronger and more prosperous we will be.
Our first event was centered around the 1976 class reunion which was a wonderful dinner and dance event in 2006 and attended by 95 persons. Our second event, the 2007 Grand Reunion was also a resounding success.
On August 1, 2009 we had our fund raising dinner dance at Krystal Hall in Richmond Hill Queens NY. It was a marvellous well attended evening. Further information and highlights of the event with photos will be coming soon to our News page.
Besides generating funds for our school, our Alumni Association is a wonderful link for keeping in touch with old friends and making new ones today. Since we all share a common background, it will be most enjoyable to network and do things together for a good cause.
In the future we will be having other types of fund raising events and we welcome the suggestions of all alumni indicating what they would enjoy doing together.
